Mount Carmel, Utah

Today is going to be a bit of a "down" day. I would just like to stay put for a bit. I stayed in my pj's til well after lunch and got some baking done. 3 dozen little muffins from my Looney Spoons bible:  Bananaberry Bombs and Sinnamon Apple. They should carry us through for a few more miles.

After a lunch of Richards favorite lentil soup (NOT) we headed out towards Kanab. The scenery is absolutely beautiful along the way. We have been told not to miss the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary on the way down.

The only way to describe the landscape here is to imagine the muscles and tendons in the human body. That was the first thing I imagined. It's hard to capture it in a single photograph.

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary

A rescued pot bellied pig. When people bring them home they don't realize that they grow up to 200 lbs.; a little large for a house pet. Then they abandon them😥

Let me tell you, I wouldn't mind coming back as a rescued pig!  They all have their own names and we got to see them feeding them with all of their favorite dishes.

We carried on to their pet cemetery which is absolutely huge!  I'm not sure what it costs to have your pet buried here but we see some pretty impressive memorials to people's pets.

Many much loved pets lay at rest here.

There are a lot of granite head stones and many little momentos by their gravesides.

We have had a very relaxing day🌞 even though we had a thunderstorm today. Here's hoping the weather improves for tomorrow.

A much delicious dinner of baby back ribs and to healthy it up a bit we had a kale salad with them.

Now for a walk to wear off some of those calories and maybe find some treasures??

Joy ridin'

Wishing he had an ATV but alas nothing salvageable.
